SUB-IP – What is In and Out
Boundaries of IETF work have been blurry
- The sub-IP area will not help clarify boundaries
- But it does clarify roles of IETF WGs
Basic concept:
- The IETF works on IP-related technology
- If something does not have a relationship to IP networks, then the work should go somewhere else
But many networks carry IP traffic… so??
- But… MPLS support for power distribution is out of bound
